High School Package

Service Description

Families are very important part of program. We first provide students with academic enhancement strategy to lay the groundwork of their college applications. We engage with students and their families as early as the summer prior to 9th grade and as late as the fall of the senior year to discuss academic and extracurricular activities. In most cases we will start sophomore year. Preparation: To begin, we ask families to complete evaluative forms and prepare a dossier of materials to help us analyze your student’s college preparedness: Contact Form and Service Agreement Family Support Assessment Form Student Self-Assessment Form (completed by student) College Interests Form (completed by student) Transcript(s) from high school All exam results (AP, SAT, SAT subject exams, ACT, other exams AIME, etc.) or plans to take exams List of college courses taken Resume of high school co-curriculars and paid, creative, or volunteer experiences. Writing sample (academic or research paper, preferably 3 pages or more) Creative resume in journalism, music, arts, design, etc. (if applicable) Athletic resume (if applicable) We will invest several hours in consultation and reviewing these materials in an initial assessment of the following: Analysis of college preparedness in with consideration to current data, personality, and academic profiling for majors and colleges being considered. Evaluation of personal development will be utilized to reach goals Consultation: We hold a two-hour meeting with your family to address your questions and review our assessment. In the meeting, we identify 3-4 important goals to complete in the short and long term. Final Report: After the meeting, we spend several hours preparing your report, which summarizes those 3-4 goals salient to your student’s success during high school and in preparation for college admission. Our report includes: We provide a summary of goals we recommend for your student inclusive of task lists to complete each year of high school. The report will have an evaluation of and recommendations for your college list, academic advising on coursework and major interests. Additional recommendations will include co-curricular summer activities, summer activities, major considerations, letters of recommendation, and financial aid guidelines Follow-Up Meetings: To make sure students are taking action on their goals, the High School Package includes three 30min follow-up consultations.
